Should I be running 800 needles in my 865 big bore [was 750] ? Already have many larger mains to try . I think everything else is the same between 750 and 800 carbs, but for needles, mains[of course] and pilot air jet [97 only].Can anybody verify this? Thanks

Thanks, but what pilot air jet is in 800? I'm not to sure but I think they are different as well.According to dealer the 95+96 are same as 750 but for 97,it has a different part#.Steve

Here is what I found by checking the parts list.
1992-94: 239-14172-12-00
PILOT JET, AIR (1.2)
1995-97: 239-14172-10-00
PILOT JET, AIR (1.0)

Just by looking at both needles, 800 needles look to be thicker.Trying to mic them is inaccurate because of taper.Anybody have needle dimensions, similar to those found in Mikuni carb tuning handbook??For comparing 6gn-14's against 6gn20's ???I want to know how much leaner they really are .Thanks.
