I have been reading where the polaris xtra-10 susp. will bolt directly in the stock skid location. does anyone know if the xtra-12 will do the same or is there clearance issues? I have the setup for an m-10 but the xtra-12 is in the $100-$150 range. Thoughts?

Not sure on the "bolt right" in stuff for the Extra 12.
A friend of mine did the extra 10 & he said it was real easy.

Now he has only ridden the sled a few times & was happy for what he did & the dollars he spent. It is lots better than the old no action skid!!

I myself went with the RX-1 due to the wieght of the Max itself & also being mindful of what I believe to be better quality in the parts of a Yamaha skid
over the Polaris. Now that is my opinion, I am sure there might be others here who would feel differently.

The price of 100-150 sure does sound good...but...I have always felt ya gets what you pays for unless you know the seller real well!!

I am in the process of buying a new, never rode 09 Nytro 144 rear skid for my project sled and...as you can imagine..it aint cheap!! But the technology
in it sure is interesting!!

I agree with Rob. I installed the RX-1 also. The '97 Vmax-4's came from the factory with the ProAction, it's engineered to carry the extra weight of a 4 cylinder engine, it's genuine Yamaha, not all that expensive or difficult to install, and my aching back thanks me for it.
