I got to ride my 94 for the first time last night. I took it out to a buddys field that is about 1/2 mile long and did a few slow passes and then opened it up a bit. WOW does the 4 pull hard from 3/4 to full throttle. On one of the last runs the oil level light came on. I looked at the level and it seemed ok approx a quart to 3/4 quart left is this a normal condition where the light comes on with about a quart of oil left? Also how do you get these things to run about 1/2 throttle mine only seems to like 3/4 to WOT. As far as i know mine is completely stock. Thanks Drew

Yes the low oil level light comes on with approx 1 qt left,
as for your low speed running issues we would need more info (carb & clutching specs to start) have your carbs been cleaned lately?

I havent cleaned the carbs I just got the sled about 2 months ago so this is its first run. Its not that it dosent run on 1/2 throttle or less it just seems to want to be wide open. Would clutching have anything to do with the performance at lower speeds like trail riding speeds as opposed to stock clutch setup? I havent really got into the specs ie clutching and carb specs I know I am definatly going to upgrade the rear skid asap! I did however dump the old fuel out of the bottom of the carbs at that nut on the bottom side and made sure to clean out the dirt ect.

Yes, all those factor will effect midrange operation.

I personaly would add a 1/3 of a can of seafoam to a half tank of fresh fuel, make sure the clutches are not sticking. IE primary weight are smooth and nothing is funky as far as bushings go. Check both the primary spring (I've seen them broken and still kinda work) and the scondary spring and buttons. Assuming this is all stock stuff. Then run it for a bit and see if anything changes with the seafoam added. If so then a carb inspection may be in order.
