Iv heard that the cranks twist on the 750's. but what hapens when your crank turns, does the sled stop right there, can you still get out of the wood, and how much damage does it to.
thanks Alex

When she is twisted she will cause the pistons to sieze up at high rpm. It will shut you down to a dead stop. Can cause damaged to your rings, piston and nikasil cylinder. You may be able to turn the primary by hand to unseize it. And get it back home. You will have to spend $$ to fix it right. You will have to tear it down right to the bottom end crank and get her aligned right.

I have 16,600km on my 93. No welded crank just yet but will get her done when I plan to race her. If you plan to tear your engine down yourself the guys here are of great help. Lots of awsome people to get you through it. So nothing to worry.

Not a problem Aless750. Everyone here loves to talk about the V-4. So go ahead and post your questions. :)

Hello Aless750,

When the crank is twisted, two cylinders (two right or two left) go out of timming thus cosing timming issues, if you want to run wide open with a twisted cank I can guarantee you that you will scrap two pistons, the two pistons inquestion will have holes in the center or the exhost side worn down to the rings, you can still run the engine to a safe place but very slowly. My 750 had a crank twist, when I opened the engine I found the gear copling to one side of the crank spune and was out of fase by about 35 Deg, the cost to repaire the crank (pull the coupling and re-set it) was a grand total of $20.00 cdn, it costed more to weld the coplings to the crake ($40.00). 1 full gasket set, 2 pistons, set coupling to crank, weld coupling to crank and lots of cleaning and time. If you want to check to see if you have a crank twist e-mail me I will explain how to do it.

By the way my two-up seat is comming in this week.
