How much play should you leave in your track when its brand new? Whats a good way to meaure the slack.?

l dont know what the drill is for a new track, i cannot find any different procedure than this in the manual. The standard service in the manual 92-93 says to put the machine on its side (ummm) and measure 10kgs/22lbs of force, to 20mm-25mm/0.79"-0.98" distance between hifax and track. Get a fishermans scale, hook the scale in a window pull down to 22lbs measure the distance and ajust accordingly

just an addition make sure you check alignment and tension every hundred miles for first 500 then check at 1000 That should get you out of break in period. If racing check every day as racing is harder on alignment and slack than riding.
