Does anyone know how to adjust the oil flow on a '94 vmax4?
yes, its in the cable. kinda by the handle bars and just under the hood, there will be some shielding that you will have to pull back, and adjust it there. give me a minute, and I`ll see if i can find a picture of the setup on my computer.

Check the oil pump cable near the airboxes,
they can get pulled apart and then you are WFO on oil consumption - I have found that 1 quart per 100 miles is about average on the groomed trail.

Damn it AL,P :cussing: you beat me to the punch!
yeah, but your probley right on about it posibley bieng seperated.:) I never think about how easily the adjustment thingy can get pulled apart, and cause it to pump oil like your running wot all the time.
I cant find a picture, or page on the adjustment right now, but I`ll try to look again later. but I`m sure someone else will beat me too it.:D

Thanks! Do you know if you can measure how far to push the cable in or out?
when you pull the cable out of the adjusting housing, it should be 27mm to 29mm from one housings metal edge to the others metal edge. (wire length its self)
there are two cables comming from your thumb lever, one goes to the carbs, the other goes to the oil pump. the one that goes to the oil pump, has an adjustement just under the hood. you have to pull back the rubber boot that is covering up the adjuster, and thats where you would measure the free play.
TORS "throttle over ride system" i dont belive it would do anything reguarding a froze oil line.

You gave out the correct info,
2 cables at the thumb lever 1 to the carbs 1 to the oil pump.

On a '94 v-max4 750 the oil cable coming from the throttle is damaged / kinked. Last trip, I burned a full tank of oil with one tank of gas.
Does anyone know where I can look up the part number for this cable assembly & a procedure to install it?
Any other maintenance issues need addressed from using access oil?
