I need a stator for my 96 Vmax 800. I've always been of the belief that when it comes to electrical parts, go with new. A new stator will run me $271.00 . Used would be a lot less? Thought I would throw that out to see what Y'all think I should do. Also would anyone by chance have an 800 stator?

Sounds expensie, but I think if I was going to keep the sled, I would buy a new one.

But Tony, aren't vmax CDI's hard to find new? Except for the stock ones (800), but aren't they worse then the aftermarket 90 degree CDI's?
thx, Lewis

Last year for no reason at all the stator on my SRX died. Funny the weekend before that I rode it and it rode perfect. The following weekend I went to start it and bingo, no spark. It just decided to die on the spot. New one was about $400.00 installed. Go new.

$271 is a pretty damn good price for any stator! Check with Rich to see if he can get it for a few bucks less. BUY NEW! Chekc everything else before installing so you don't just burn up another one!...Blue
