The 92 Vmax-4 rear snow flap is around 15.5 inches wide. Is the 97 Vmax-4 also this wide? The reason I ask is because a new 92 fnow flap costs $63. and a new 97 snow flap costs $25.

Just a guess, But because the 97 has the proaction...I bet its the same flap they use on the new sleds and have lot on hand...But, just a guess.

But if the proaction suspension is 1 inch narower than the 92 does that mean the tunnel is narower? And the snow flap? Does any one have a 97 800? can you measure the with of it?

I think the 97 Vmax-4 proaction rear skid was all by itself, AKA wider than the newer models.
Wildmax should know for should since he owns or use to own a 1997 Vmax-4 800.

Where the flap mounts to the tunnel the '97 flap measures just about 16.5 inches wide. At the widest point of the '97 flap, it measures just about 18.5 inches wide.

I personally like the newer flaps better, they are a sturdier plastic and they have nicer lettering than the older ones, imo.
