playing with my suspension settings today and noticed an issue with my track.seemed to be a lip all the way around the right edge.at first i thought it must be rubbing somewhere with the new skid.upon closer inspection, track is definatly not rubbing but the problem isnt just the edge of the track.the lip on the edge is balled up rubber that i can remove by just rubbing it with my thumb.the whole area between the edge and the hyfax seems to be delamanating.the rubber is bubbled and peeling all the way around.its peeled right to the cords in spots.the way its all soft and bubbled it seems as if its been soaked in gas or oil.i`m laying on the ground scratching my head when i see it.i look towards the front of the sled see that the exhaust outlets(psi quads)aim directly at the track.i`m thinking oil and possibly some unburnt fuel from the exhaust is ruining my track.

has anyone ever had an issue like this?any of you guys with psi`s,do your outlets aim at the track or are they straight down.i will be installing a new track this summer and want to get this sorted.

Wow, I have the PSI quad setup & have NO issues on the track.

My pipes set perfectly with the outlets going straight down.

I will look thru my pic collection & see if I have a shot or 2 of the pipes & how they sit at the outlet.

I know that I do leave a bit of a residue wherever the ole girl idles & I actually have a rag under the outlets in my trailer since she does tend to put a bit of an oil slick out there!!

But it definately is missing my track!!

I've had PSI quads on mine for 14 years and never had that problem. My pipes point straight down out of the exit hole. Do you have all of your retention springs on? They hold the pipes snug and I suppose that if one is missing the pipes could turn and point towards the track. Check behind the end of the pipes just before they exit out the hole, there should be a stiff spring that holds them in place. There should also be a long spring that attaches to a clip on the side of the engine head, goes around all four pipes, and back to a hook on the end pipe to hold everything together. It's just behind the strut area.

I have a piece of "oily plywood" that I put on the floor under the pipes. They spit a little oil when idling. I also plug the ends of the pipes with rags when it's not being used to keep the little critters out of there.

the exhaust should not hurt it. besides when your moving that air is flying around with snow and the exhaust comes out what 2.5-3 psi? alot of older model sleds lasted 30 years with the exhaust vent right before the drivers in the tunnel. i bet you track is defective or i might go as far to thinking it wasnt tightened properly. how about a stuck wheel?. pics would help.
