I took a ride today. It was very wet snow, almost slush. My sled wouldn't get over 8000rpm's. WHY???

First guess, clutch is working.

Not my vmax4....but on another sled some years ago, I went out and meet up with some friends on a pretty warm day....and my sled did about the same thing...I wrote it off as my jetting being way to fat for the temps, but posibley even more of a problem, was the VERY VERY high moisture content in the air from the snow melting and taking flight..LOL

it was almost foggy out....humid as heck...

temps dropped back down a couple days later, and my sled was running normal again....full rpms/power..

i agree with al

the more heavy the snow the more load on the engine, then add jetting for colder temps in a warm temp makes a rich mixture, then add the fact the vent lines are vented under the hood making it even more rich at higher speed making the engine not perform the way you want it too. wait till its gets cold again. my 600 is prone to this.
in cold weather she really rips but in warmer weather it just doesnt pull the same.

Thanks,
Basically confirming my thoughts. When it's cold out it will hit 8400 when I pin it and then settle down to 8250 and OMG does it pull at that rpm. Doesn't even feel like it's the same sled today at 8000.

STEVEN, VERY SIMPLE. YOU COULD OF TUNED FOR THE DAY, DROP YOUR JETTING DOWN ABOUT 10 SIZES AND INCRESE SECONDARY TWIST. ANOTHER WORDS, LEAVE IT AND RIDE. 3:16 (yammie tony)
