Have any of you tryed, or heard of, putting performance air filters, K&N etc.., on the bigmax? Because I was looking at some different kinds and they have some reasonably large double ones, so one for each two cylinders, like the air box, I am kind of surprised that I have not heard anything about this, because that is the one place, along with exhaust, where yamaha's are known to make a lot of power with just those simple mods, at least it is like that in their atv's and dirtbikes.
Thanks Lewis

Tuning nightmare. Leave the airboxs on, IMO.

Airboxes! Filters for drags only and still I don't even bother with them as I see no gain and sucking hot ass air instead of outside air....Blue

Yeah, that would be a problem, getting the outside air, I'll most likely just stick to your advice, unless I see some other way to run them:)
HP whore.

What about a shield from the engine and cutting the dash and putting some filter in there? I saw some pics of this done to a srx, just looking to make something great better :D:D:D

IMHO, if you're looking for max HP, just modify the stock airboxs/pull the shelves out and re-jet.

If you're running clean ice drags only, I've seen guys run open carbs.

I still say leave the boxes, there is little to no restriction there.

Okay thanks Master, what do you mean by pulling the shelves out though? Much appreciated.
