Sensor? the only adjustments that I can think of, would be the pilot jet screw? are you sure the carbs are absolutly spotless? floats aint sticking or anything? good plugs, caps on tight? dont mean to second geuss ya, just wanted to mention some of my thoughts? have you double checked the compression latley? plug wires did`nt get crossed did they?

i put new rings in it when i did the crank but i didnt change the plugs yet i will take off the carbs and do a good cleaning job on the the sensor that im talking about is the screw that is in the middle of the carbs

thats the idle adjustment, it coincides with the tors. it should`nt be the culprit. them wires comming from that area, are the wires that run off to the tors system. have you checked to make sure you did`nt cross the number 2 and 3 plug wires? or maybe even the entire coil plug connectors? actually, have you had it running yet since the rebuild? or is this something that just started happening after other wise running/sounding good?

You rebuilt the motor and then put in used plugs and never cleaned the carbs????????????????...Blue

na, I kinda doubt it. to be honest, I`ve gotten excited when first getting a motor done, and kinda cut a few corners myself, becuase i just could`nt wait to hear it run. it happens, no big deal i dont think. just had to give ya a little shiz about it:D , BUT... in all fairness, the vmax 4 just like other two stroke motors, can burn down a piston quickly due to a dirty carb. it really dont take much, or very long at all! anyway, congrats again, on getting er all going. now we just need SNOW!!! then its YEEEHAAAAW

Patience and thoroughness are THE KEYS to rebuilding. Never assume you have to get to that one thing you know is wrong, you will probably find other items along the way to it that need attention or were the root cause of the rebuild anyway. The motors are so simple in design and very small items can cause catastophic failures. I waxed a fresh 540 in my old Vmax that I just put balanced pistons, ceramic coated and the works. Piched a power jet feul line installing the carbs, went down the ice road and at about 100, blllluuuuuuu. Melted that piston. Lesson learned and you go on.

As you disassemble, inspect every part you take out, nuts and bolts too! They will tell you a "story". Take notes and or pics if you can. You usually have plenty of time waiting for parts or such to then go back and clean and prep all the parts so they are ready to assemble when the goods get in.

Okay, I'm done preaching. But if you ever cut corners again, :bottom:!

Now have fun with it!...Blue:sled:
