Did anyone ever put an ad in your local paper asking for older sleds or VMax-4 sleds or parts? My ad goes in our local paper Thursday and I hope to get some people calling. The sled I ask what the guy meant by a Yamaha Stinger said it was a sled that just was put in the barn and was there for awhile. They just decided on putting in the advertiser not even knowing what is was. It only had 500 miles on it! It was a SRV 540. He said it sold right away when the paper came out in the morning and ask me why so many people had called about it. He also took $400.00 for it. So hopefully, something good comes out of the ad I put in.
I just had to tell this little story, since I can't wait to see what happens.

I talked with a guy yesterday from the outskirts of Philadelphia that has 6 older Ski-Doos. He collected them for awhile and the guy from New York thought bought 2 of my older sleds gave him my name and he called me. He is older and needs room, I take it the neighbors are complaining about all the sleds and parts he has in his yard. He moved down from the Poconos about 2 years ago and he wants to find a good home for his sleds. Cold someone loan me some money for the sleds? LOL
He has a 1972 Nordic 640 with electric start, reverse and cig lighter that has 1200miles on it, original cover and everything works. Also a couple of 72 and 73 TNT models that have 350 and 560 miles on them and in great shape. 79 Scorpion Whip with 500 miles on, all original.
I guess I rambled on long enough!! Just had to tell someone who might care!!

i would LOVE to have them sleds! I`ve been thinking of putting an add in our paper too oddley enough. i was just going to put "vintage/old sleds wanted, pay up too?" i know there are some diamonds in the rough setting in someones barn or back yard. i dont really have alot of room, but i just love working on vintage sleds. plus, every year there getting more and more rare. my ole lady has a friend that still has his dads old sleds, that have spent most of their life in a barn at his uncles house, where they still are today. him or his uncle dont care anything for sleds, and he was`nt sure what models they are? all he could say was that one of them he "thinks" is an arctic cat, and he has two others that ave been under the cover soo long he cant even remember what color they are. needless to say, I`ve been wanting to get ahold of him and go check them out. who knows what might be setting there, or what condition?

That is what I thought. Who knows. I am not thinking I will find the rarest sled in the world but if I can get a older sled CHEAP, I am game. Our area is very remote and snowmobiling was very popular here a long time ago ,when we got snow but so many people got out of the sport. I know there is alot of old farmers around here that have to have sleds, in their barns or some where laying around. I will be sure to tell you if the ad worked!
