Had a few sleds do that if I pulled over in the side of a ditch. The right side of the sled was lower then the left. I'd have to shut off the engine, pull the sled up on flat ground and restart it. Off I'd go.
With the engine off, belt off, can you push (may take some help) the clutch cover in?

CHRIS lol!!!! DUDE, TAKE PRIMARY CLUTCH ALL APART AND MAKE SHURE EVERYTHING MOVES, IS LUBED, NOT BINDED, etc. SECOND DON,T CONTINE TO FORCE THIS ISSUE. YOUR PROBELY DESTROYING WHATEVER BELT YA HAVE LEFT ON THERE. SECOND , YOU MAY WANT TO PULL CHAINCASE APART IF CLUTCH CHECKS OUT. ! 3:16 (tony)

Thats how I knew I tucked the fly weight a tad toooo much.
The more I'd rev the motor, the more it would push the WRONG way.
(note to self, don't tuck weights past center line)

Chris
Had a similar situation myself.
What was the degree of angle of your ditch?
The left side of mine was lower then the right, had to take the whole clutch apart!!!! Parts all over the middle of US-2. Had to do it late at night when the traffic was low
