93 Driveshaft and gearing questions

I'm rebuilding my 93 Vmax4 and have a 92 donor sled. I see my 93 has a 2 piece driveshaft and the 92 is a one piece, is one preferred over the other? Also I have different gearing between the two is there a preferred gearing combo to go with?

I assume you are referring to the jackshaft that the secondary clutch mounts on. The 92-94 750's came with a two piece shaft. In 95 Yamaha upgraded to a one piece shaft and a much improved secondary clutch. I would guess that a previous owner of the 92 upgraded it to an 800 driveline. Do the sleds have different secondary clutches?

yes the upper jackshaft and the secondary is different. So maybe I should take the secondary, jackshaft, and gear box from the other then?

Yes I would swap it out as a complete assembly.
