1996 COLOR CODE?

anyone know what the color code is for a 1996 vmax 4??

Or maybe you have painted a side pannel, hood etc, and found a color that matched really good?
(reffering to the red portions..)

AL, WHEN I HAD MY 96 800, I GOT A TOUCH UP MARKER RIGHT FROM YAMAHA. # WAS 5280 OFH FIRE RED. HOPE THIS HELPS. 3:16 (yammie tony)

Kahunas..very funny..I actually looked up honda red, and found a list of about 30 differant variations of honda red..LOL

Al, if you have any parts with the red on them, you can go to Painter's Supply or Finishmaster and they can read it with the color spectrophotometer they have. They will then be able to formulate the color in either single stage or basecoat PPG red for you. Sorry I don't have an actual formula/code available for you on that color. Good luck!

That`s a good idea allseason...

was hoping to be able to just grab a cheap spray can for a quick touch up...and do a larger part later..but..I could just get the good stuff and get it over with...

I literaly live less then probley two miles from finish masters..and often go to painters supply for materials when i paint bikes etc..
I never even thought of having them check it...

fire engine red is pretty much spot on with the color, i replaced the nose cone on mine and it was black painted it that color red and cant tell the diff.

I`ve called a couple various paint supply places, and everytime I say fire red, they ask me, which version?

I have`nt ask for fire "engine" red yet...maybe that`s the ticket?

Hey, do you by any cance still have the can? I`ve found a couple variations of "fire engine red"...and I really hate to guess which one matches best?
so maybe you still have the can, and can post the part number off it?? or where ya got it etc?

i dont have the can anymore but i bought it at Canadian Tire dupli-color makes the paint just wrote on the can FIRE RED
