New members?

I`ve noticed that we have got quite a few new members latley, but only one has posted in the "new memeber introductions" section (other than RDL:D) . what I`m wondering is, could it be that its not real obvious to see the section? or maybe they just dont want to bother? not that, that would be a big deal or anything. but just curious what you`ll think? I spend some time on two differant motorcycle sites, and both have "new member introductions" or similar name forums, and thier always getting new post, and seam to be doing very well as far as response`s, post, ect. from new members. so I`m just curios what you guys think? I kinda though about doing a poll to see if the new members did infact see the forum, but i dont want to put them on the spot right off the bat, so i figured i would get some of you guys oppinions. I've been on sites where it was a requirement to make a post in the new member section before you could post anywhere else and I didn't really care for that. I think it is pretty easily seen, and it should just be left up to the new users to make a post on their own, but I think the lack of posts in there is probably stopping some. If there were more already it might promote others to throw a post up, just a thought. I agree that new members don't always wanna be put on the spot right away.

yeah it would`nt be cool to make them have to post in it, I was just wondering what others thought about it. your probley right. there`s so few of post, it kinda looks like "the thing" to do, is not post in there or something like that. they probley figure this site has been around for awhile (which it has) and if thats all the posts that have been made in there, that most others did`nt bother with it either. they most likely dont know we crashed recently, and added that forum to the site recently also. ohh well, It will probley pick up later. I would like to see a section that lists you guys that post all the time. Maybe have you "old timers"( maybe I should say veterans),post a little about yourselves. A new member could go there and sort of get aquainted with the gang! Just a thought. Maybe there already is such a section that I just have'nt found yet.

Humm, we could just do it right here. that way it is`nt like you say, very few post making it look like it may be the wrong spot. but i think we would be better off introducing ourselves in a new thread of our own, instead of a bunch of reply`s in the same thread. either later tonight, or tomaro, i will go ahead and post a thread in the "new member introductions" about me and how i came to be here ect. good idea! Alot of the members aren't new they just had to re-establish accounts after the dump....mike

I also get a kick out of going back and reading the guest book to see what some of us posted before we became members.
