1. PRESDIDENT BUSH LYING HIS ASS OFF JUST LIKE JOHNSON, NIXON .
2. NEWS MEDIA. IF YA CAN REMEBER WHEN VIETNAM WAS GOING ON, NOBODY KNEW ANYTHING ABOUT IT LIKE UNDER 16. JUST LIKE TODAY, THESE KIDS HAVE NO CLUE. UNLESS YOU WERE DRAFTED.
3. NO TIMELINE TO GET OUT.
4. ASSHOLE HOLLYWOOD ACTORS PROTESTING.
5. WE EXPECTING THE IRAQ,s TO FIGHT THEIR OWN BATTLES JUST LIKE THE SOUTH VIETNESE. GOOD LUCK
6 OVER OIL, NOT 911. OR WAS IT COMMUNISM
7. 1965 WAS THE FIRST BATTLE YEARS OF VIETNAM, WHERE IS THE KIA RATE VS 2005.
8.NOBODY HELPING US. JUST LIKE NAM
9. ARE EQUITMENT SUCKS, JUST LIKE NAM
10. JUST LIKE THE JUNGLE, WE HAVE NO IDEA WHO THE ENEMY IS. WERE UNDER AMBUSH ALL THE TIME.

Good words. I agree immensely. It is another Vietnam over there. God bless our boys to do their bit and git home to their families. I think Bush looks and speaks like a Chimp...He only needs a Banana in one hand to add to the look. His big ears are the dead give -a - way.
He waited way to long after 911 to go into Afganistan. Then, not into Iraq until March of '03. Now look-just like you said, Vietnam all over again.
I say the big dumb monkey lookin' bastard should've nuked the bastards on 9-12!!!!!!!!!!!:agree:

Nuke who?? Remember that Al Qaida is/was supported and funded by CIA a while ago, also Bin Laden and his gang recieved training support from CIA etc. Also, Mr.Bush planned regime change in Iraq way before 9/11 so basically the 9/11 indicent was like a gift from heaven to Bush, he got a very good reason to attack Afganistan and Iraq. The war isn't about protecting freedom blablabla, it is about oil and oil contracts. Pipeline through Afganistan, oil from Iraq, smooth...And talk about support and contracts USA had with Saddam back in the good ol' days! Saddam also changed the oil trading currency from $dollars to €euros and that was a big No No for Bush and Co. since it would have caused the dollars value to plunge. Now Iran is thinking about the same and see where the propaganda is taking us again, another war and propably faked reasons again.
Also, now they have a base in Iraq and what better place to attack Syria and Iran from and no, they are not leaving.

I've spoken to a few guys who've come back and a couple of wives who are here. What you see on TV and read in the papers is not a very good picture of what's really going on over there, good news doesn't sell papers. The troops support our President and so do I.
Waiting to long.....should be their or not, Something had to be done. I don't agree with every thing that has happened and the way it was handled. But I don't think we can just turn our heads and look the other way. I went in the Marines right out of high school and that was durring desert storm. I didn't get deployed any where, but if i was called apon..I would go. I think we will trade bullets of their for some time yet. I think the next problem to come is North Korea, the guy that runs that place is Nuts!
Godbless the men and women over their and pray for a safe return to their familys. 3ft

I GRADUATED FROM HIGH SCHOOL IN 1975 , THE YEAR THE DRAFT ENDED. I DID HAVE LOTS OF FRIENDS THAT THEIR OLDER BROTHERS WERE IN THE SERVICE. ONE THING I DO HAVE, WAS A GREAT MENTOR ABOUT THE VIETNAM WAR. SEE MY SUPERVISOR AT GM/VALEO USE TO SIT ON THE LOADING DOCKS WITH ME AND TELL ME STORIE AFTER STORIE. HE WAS A 30YEAR VETEREN OF THE US MARINE CORP. HE WAS A SERGENT MAJOR. HE DID TWO TOURS THERE, 66-67 AND ALL OF 1970. HE WAS ACTUALLY IN THE SECOND DIVISON OF MARINES THAT ENTERED NAM . HE ALSO DID FAMILY NOTEFICATION WHEN HE WAS STATE SIDE IN 1968-69. I CONSIDER HIM TO BE A GREAT MAN. HE ANSWERED ALL MY QUESTIONS, TALKED ABOUT 911 AND WHAT WAS FACEING THE SOLDIERS TODAY IN IRAQ. HE GOT ME INTRESTRED IF I LIKED IT OR NOT SO KNOW I DO NOT GET IT FROM PAPERS.!!! 3:16 (tony)

Vietnam was a very different war with very different circumstances. I, for one, am glad we stood up and kicked the crap out of a country that has been thumbing it's nose at us for quite some time. Some may say that the only reason we are there is because of oil and that the war has nothing to do with what happened on 09/11 and everyone in this country has a right to think that and to stand up for what they beleive. Other countries resent us Americans for having these rights.
The events that occured on 09/11/01 were the result of too many years of just ignoring those little people that had been hacking away at our freedoms and the freedoms of their own people for a number of years. Should we have just written a letter to these kind folks and asked them to please stop? Should we have ignored the whole problem for another 20 years and waited to see what would happen?
Ours sons and daughters are over there making a REAL difference to the people of that country AND to the future of Americans and the world. Most of the country really IS thankful for the running water, schools, hospitals, electric, phones, and last but surely not least, the freedoms they have as a result of our interference with their former government. There is, unfortunately, a number of people over there that have been taught since birth that we are an evil empire and that nothing good can come about from democracy and our way of life.
GOD BLESS AMERICA, HER TROOPS, AND THE PEOPLE THAT GUIDE HER.

:agree: :agree: Firemanharry, You da man! I totally agree. I stand firmly behind our president, and our boys overseas. My nephew just returned from Iraq, and painted a totally different picture of what is going on over there than is told us by the press.
I have the feeling this is going to turn ugly. I realy Really Really hope everyone dont start getting into a heated debate. this is a very touchy subject with many of us I`m sure, and another thing I`m sure of, is one side is NOT going to convince the other side to change views. I made the mistake of posting my veiws in a reply at a differant site/forum, and it turned into a 14 page long internet fight. before it was over, the moderators were threatening to ban people, becuase it got so bad, that people were threatening others, and, it just got WAY out of controll. I`d hate to see that happen here. although, I`m pretty sure, the people that hang out on this site, are more mature, and respectfull of others than the idiots at that other site (just had to sneak the "idiots" remark in there. LOL) BUT, when it comes to a subject as touchy as this, and not to mention, its the ole dont talk politics thing. I`m afraid of what might happen. that bieng said, I`m glad yammiegod spoke his mind, and that others have too. I just hope it dont turn into a heated debate. and leave lasting negativaty between members here, like what I experianced first hand at another site. AL

WHAT EVER HAPPENS, THE BOTTOM LINE IS THIS. FIRST YOU MUST TOTALLY SUPPORT ALL THE ARMED FORCES, THE MEN AND WOMEN THAT ARE THERE, THEIR FAMILIES AND YOU GOT TO SAY IT THE PRESIDENT. THIS IS THE MOST INPORTANT THING TO LET THOSE THERE KNOW WERE BEHIND THEM. VEITNAM MIGHT HAVE DEFFERENT RESONS AND CIRCUMSTANCES, BUT WHEN YA HAVE A WAR GOING ON, THERE WILL BE COMPARISONS. GOD BLESS ALL IN THE ARMED FORCES. 3:16 (tony)
Great post yammiegod!! reguardless of mine or anyone else`s views of whats going on, i agree that we need to support our troops.

DUDE, THANK YOU. AGAIN I AM KNOW POLITICAN. AND I THINK MOST ARE JERKS. BUT YOU MUST SUPPORT THE MEN AND WOMEN IN THE SERVICE. THATS THE MOST INPORTANT THING THAT THOSE PEOPLE KNOW WE CARE ABOUT THEM. ! 3:16 (tony)
My opinion is this : if you are going to war, go to win. No hesitation, just only goal in mind, win. Things get much worse if war is fought " one hand tied behind the back".
If someone thinks that Saddam or the fundamentalist will give you a second chance, think again. If you have your opportunity to win , TAKE IT.
Just my 2c
Speaking of going to "war" the united states still has not "officialy" declared "war" against iraq. they may call it "the war on terrorist", but technically, we are not at war with anyone.

Here is how I view war - it is the ultimate form of confrontation - we all have confrontation's in our life - why would we expect nations of the world not to have these same confrontations? - it is all about survival and protecting your way of life and what you believe - unfortunately, people die for what they belive in - the insurgants are the highest form of belief - unfortunately we have young men dying for what we belive in - the sad part is, we as a nation cannot force our beliefs and our way of life on any other nation as we continue to do throughout history when we have a hidden adgenda (oil) - the people that attacked us are not stupid - they know what our motives were - we will only survive as a nation when we quit trying to control the world for our own interests!

P.S. - My post does not in anyway mean that I do not support our troops - they are just innocent pawns in this worldly game of chess!

We will agree to disagree on this as I beleive that we did as the government which we attacked has been decimated. It is great to live in a country where we can express these opinions openly and freely.
The disturbing part about this thread is Tony posted that 11 marines were killed and nobody has even nodded thier head at his post.
May God bless the souls and families of those killed for a cause that few understand and many are fighting for.
That being said I now end my input on this thread.

I just don't like the Iraq war, it seems to serve no purpose. Yes, Saddam was a bad person but is it really up to other nations to decide what is good or bad for a country? In my opinion, if the people of Iraq needed/wanted to get rid of Saddam, they should have done so. Revolution or something, no matter what it takes! This is the situation in North Korea, the people should remove Kim Jong Il if they want democracy. If they don't do it, then they don't deserve freedom nor democracy.
It makes me sick to see so many lives destroyed, both Iraqis and US-citizens, for a war that, in my opinion, was basically for securing US's oil reserves and also to get a permanent base in Middle East.
And for those marines that got killed, I think people have become numb to react to such news since our daily lives is filled with violence from TV, newspapers etc, news of death, war, diseases. At some point it becomes just too much and you stop caring since it, basically, doesn't affect your live.
If you want an alternative news source, you can visit this site : http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/ . Of course it is up to you to decide if all that is written there is true but that's what freedom of choice is about.

Just for perspective guys:
We already have bases in two countries bordering Iraq (Saudi Arabia and Kuwait). Then there is Israel just to the north! We have little need for a "base" in Iraq other than to backup the Iraqi forces that are being developed right now. As a matter of fact, we already have 11 Army/Air bases in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
The USA imports five (5) times more oil from CANADA than Iraq!!!!! CANADA is the LARGEST supplier of crude oil to the USA. Average from Canada is 1.6+ million barrels per day and Iraq is number 7 @ less than .4 per day or just a fraction of what they do export in total. Just a tad over what we import from the United Kingdom (England). That should put a perspective on how little oil we buy from Iraq. So if it is control of Oil that is the true motivation here, Canada is in for one big ass whoopin pretty soon. LOL. Yes, oil still is a part of the motivation. Keeping the flow and supply of oil to not only the USA but also the entire world is extremely important to everyone’s economies. Hundreds of years ago wars were fought to secure things like SALT. Oil does fuel the ENTIRE globe and that is simply a fact. Without stability in the oil market our Nation would fold so it IS our business to insure nobody else controls our economy and destiny. Do you want to be at the mercy of those counties controlling the oil? At least we ensure that the entire globe benefits from the stability and not just us. There was almost panic when the price of gas jumped up over three bucks a gallon here. The day we all trade in our trucks and sleds and start riding bicycles is the day we won’t have to fight to secure the oil WE expect to have available at every corner for dirt cheap.
What we DO need over there is a haven of freedom that the people can see in action and taste for themselves. Women who need not fear if their husband speaks up for himself that she and her daughters will be gang raped before they behead the man. This is in our interest as well as theirs. We promised to help them revolt the last time and the f-ing UN stepped in and we backed out, leaving them to be mass murdered as a result. You see how well inaction and sympathizing can work, …FRANCE!
Building a new nation that can support and defend itself takes some time people. We are so accustomed to getting what we want almost immediately in our daily lives that our impatience bites us in the ass. We have no concept how difficult and time consuming the process is to go from where they were just a short time ago to where they are now. I for one am amazed at how much has been accomplished over there in what is really a very short amount of time in relation to the goal. Our President and military deserve all the credit. Those brave Soldiers, Marines, Airmen and Sailors are the face of our Nation and they are doing an excellent job. The Iraqi people see what we really are all about and are winning them over every day. These changes will make for a better world for our children and that is the long term goal here, not what is in it for me TODAY!
We all have our concerns and worry about those troops every day. It is frustrating to say the least to hear and watch the news every day. Every story has two sides though and I listen to the troops. They are proud and that is not because they defeated Saddam but because of the difference they have been making in the lives of the Iraqi’s. They see the good being done every day that is not focused on by the news. Remember that the news people are in it for profit. Their motivation is to sell the most riveting story they can. Happy people walking the streets is not interesting to us, death and destruction is. We pay attention to the most devastating events, see the advertisements and buy the products. News is a commodity, not a public service. The lives lost, while unfortunate, are not in vain. Their sacrifices are for all of us and our children’s future. God bless them and all of us. Let freedom ring!

Im not thinking I agree with the idea that nobody nodded their head at Tony's post. Look at all the posts from the guys on this site, I dont believe for one minute that nobody recognized the fact that 11 marines were killed in Iraq based on their prior coments. Besides, how would you know
