Has anyone tried a roller on a V4?
it's a maximumperformace kit and I'm thinking it could be god to have som backshift sometimes... I have two helixes to choose between one made for the SRX, the other for a tripple piped SXV
I think the SXV helix would be a better choose för the V4 or am I wrong?
My secundary is from a 97 v max 700 with the spring and helix from the original sheave, with like non backsift...
but my real problem is te primary cluth, a comet 108 exp that has a shift rmp about 9500... but that is gonna be a later question.

I've been using a 49/43 multi angle helix with stock primary and get awesome backshift.
Are the 2 helix's you're considering straight or multi angle?
What setting is the secondary set at ... sometimes referred to as twist. If its too low, I can see that affecting backshift too. You can try increasing the secondary twist until you get decent backshift.
Personally I would address the primary clutching first and worry about fine tuning the secondary after, because they have to work together to get the power to the ground.

Yepp I know... gona get a primary of a sxr if I'm lucky, thinking of throw the comet in the lake.
Secondary is pretty lose (as lose you can get it) cuse otherwise rmp is gona go way over 9500.. the high rmp's is caused of tuning, previous owner told me after I've monted the comet that the engine is ported..!
Don't know if it's straight or multi angel on them but check the link. http://www.blocket.se/view/6238054.htm?caller=vbl_s&l=0&c=1&city=0
If I don't purchase this kit then I'm gona think of the 49/43 multi helix, so thanks for the tip ghodder.

I've had a maximum performace roller secondary on my sled since about '97. I've put about 5500 miles on it. It works great!!!!!

you can get a roller from http://www.mountainperformance.com/yamaha_power_train.htm
The maximum perfomance one from http://www.knracing.se/index.htm but it's a swedish site..
you ned to drill 3 holes in the secondary and screw them.
Heyyy DRAGBOY! what kind of helix do you use straight or multi and what angle?

The is a new version of the Roller Rooster it is called the RX3. They claim it is 3 times better then the Gen II. It is a bolt on kit that doesn't require any drilling. Order RX3 Roller Kit # HCRP and Clutch Kit CKH60 for 95-97 VMAX4.

Like the others said your rpm is way to high, your losing not only power your back shift can never be set correctly. I suggest a stock primary and if it is ported I would still bring it down by adding weight to the arms then set secondary @ 3-3 a nice medium place to start,Also the helix has 2 #'s in it for a multi angle and 1 for a straight the 4's come with a straight 43. Haucks have letters but you can call them to get the angle.
