When idling, after let's say 10 seconds, I start to hear the strap screaming a little bit... push the throttle a little like 2000 rpm and the screaming dissapear... I know it is an adjustment, but just dont know where and how...
Anu tips beside raising the idle speed at 2000 rpm ??? :2haha:
Strap?? meaning the belt?

Well, I guess the right translation must be the belt... French speaking problem... you know!
Has it always done this? or have you put a new belt on recently?
I`m pretty interested, because mine NEVER used to whine/sqeall at all, until recently when I finaly put a 8bu belt on it...ran across a guy in fenton (a town right next to mine) that had one...VERY cheap & brand new..i looked it over REAL close, and measured it..
anyway, I put it on, and after riding for a little while, started noticing a sqeall when setting still idleing?

I have only just started running 8bu's always had 89a and I notice a slight squeal at idle now as well.

in fact, genuine brand new belt installed by dealer. Did not squeal at all last year. My new to me 4 stroke venture 2005 this year was also doing it when I got it. The dealer ajusted I think the secondary clutch to loosen up the first or something like that. now it is perfect. So I guess my V-Max also needs only an adjustment.
just don't know wich one and where...

I just got off the phone with a customer of mine who previously had a 4. He now runs an RX-1 2005 or 2006.
He said I need some shims (3), one per screw, on the pulley that is on the jack shaft (the one close to the left knee...)
It is that simple! as long as you have the shims, and the right size of shims! wich I don't, of course!

If I am not mistaken the 8bu is wider than the 89a that is why they squeal on a 750 clutch

I AM GONNA DOUBLE CHECK THIS, I BELIEVE THE 89A AND THE 8BU WERE THE SAME SIZE. DEFFERENCE ONLY BEING IN COMPOUND OF THE BELT, THE 8BU BEING SOFTER. NOW WHEN EVER YOU HAVE THIS PROBLEM USALLY IT IS CAUSED BECAUSE BELT IS TOO TIGHT. BEING NEW, NOT SCUFFED, AND GLAZED ALSO ADDS TO THIS PROBLEM. YOU LOOK THERE IS A SPEC FOR BELT DEFLECTION IN YOUR MANUAL. THE 1995 NEWER SECONDARYS CAN EASY BE ADJUSTED FOR THIS PROBLEM BY REMOVEING SMALL WASHERS. WHAT I WOULD DO FIRST ON 750, IS CHECK OFFSET AND CENTER TO CENTER DISTANCE. THIS IS TO MAKE SHURE EVERYTHING IS ALIGNED. 3:16 (yammie tony)
Thanks for the reply yammiegod & capt`in..
I`ll bet thats it..new, a bit tight, and glazed..
i did notice that this belt seamed a bit tighter then my old dayco ulti max..
I`ve checked my off set and center to center..everything is good there...
I did`nt do anything to this belt before putting it on..seams like I remember guys talking about washing them first? maybe I`ll pull it back off, give it a good rinsing, and scuff it up a bit..
Thanks again guys!!
