I started tearing down my 750st tonight. I weighed the option of fixing it up but it was in need of too much. It never really worked right from day one, never had time to figure it out as the chain blew and I parked it, I had my '93 anyways. I'm starting to figure out what was wrong I think. It seemed to have the heart of a fighter but no motivation if that makes any sense. I cleaned the carbs, checked comp, it was 120 across the board, so I wasnt sure. Well here is a pic of what I found out. All of the ports with arrows were covered by the base gasket, the only one open for sure is the one in the ellipse. Do you think this could have something to do with my power problems I was having?

If memory seves..is`nt that a dead port? meaning, its just a cavity, with no outlet?

I think I have to agree with you. I was checking out a few pictures of base gaskets and they cover those same ports. Well I guess I got nothing figured out.
