Hello everyone. most of you already know me, and know how i came to be here, but I`m going to post it again, for some of the new members to get to know a little more about me, and how i came to be here. anyway, in July of 2004 I was driving through my neighborhood a differant way than i normaly go, and seen this monster of a snowmobile setting in a front yard with a for sale sign on it for $1000. I stopped to check it out (even though it could have been for sale for $50 and i still would`nt have had the money to buy it) anyway, no one was home I asummed from the lack of vehicles in the driveway, so I went ahead and opened up the hood, and about fainted LOL, when i seen what appeared to be a 4 cylinder two stroke motor. I had never even heard of one? so anyway, after looking it over for a minute, I got back in my van and left thinking DANG i wish I had the money for something like that!. at this point in time, the newest, fastest sled, I had ever owned or rode, was a 1980 500 polaris centurion. so needless to say, this sled was WAY nicer than any sled I`d ever owned, or rode. well after drooling for a few, I got back in my van, and went home, then later that night I could`nt stop thinking about it. so I decided to look it up on the internet, and was`nt seeing anything about it, except for some parts here and there, then I found a site named "vmax 4.com" I then set a record for the fastest click ever, and started reading about it at this site. after reading for awhile, I was totaly convinced I had to have it. although I knew in the back of my mind, I was daydreaming, and would`nt no way be able to come up with the money. So after a few days, I ended up going back over to the house again, just to look at it and day dream some more. and this time there was some guy in the front yard. so I pulled in, and started talking to him about it. he said it ran great, but had low compresion on one cylinder and would probley need one set of rings. well after looking at this monster of an engine, I`m thinking my god, how much of a fiasco would that be? but after looking at it some more, I started making sence out of the structure of it, and thought to my self, "hey, it might not be that bad?" so at that point, I really did`nt care that it would need to have some rings replaced. So anyway, while were standing there talking about it and I`m thinking to myself that I`m basicaly just wasting this guys time, because thier aint no way I`m comming up with $1000. I just so happen to notice that he has a couple motorcycles in his garage. so we get to talking about them, and he says that he`s looking for a bike for his ole lady, and right them bingo, I get excited all over again, becuse I just soo happen to have a 1975 stock honda 750 four in great shape just setting in a friends shed. well, to make a long story shorter :D I ended up riding the honda that I had a total of about $400 into, to the guys house, and ask him what he would give me for it, and he said $800, which was fair, because this bike was in GREAT condition with new paint, ect. I got a steal on the bike anyway and already had some paint, and alot of other parts to fix it up real nice with, So basicaly, I somewhow managed to scrounged up the remaining $200 and got my vmax 4. so needless to say, I was a very happy camper getting a big fancy newer snowmobile for about $600. but I did end up doing alot more work to it and putting alot more money into it, than I though I was going to have to, but it still worked out that I had a very resonable amount of money invested into having a good running monster of a snowmobile.

P.S, if not for this site, I likely would`nt have even got my vmax 4, because I did`nt know anything about the vmax 4, and did`nt know anyone else who did either. So before I had even bought it, I had joined this site, and ask a couple of questions, about what might be causing the low compression, and what I might have to do to fix it, and i got such great responses from the members here, that I knew I had it made. and just to add a little more, I went from bieng clueless on the vmax 4, to where I feel really confident with my knowledge on the vmax 4. this site has helped me learn more about the vmax 4`s, than I ever could have imagined. Vmax 4.com, rocks!!!!!!!!!

That's cool Al! I bet there's others out there with great stories that a lot of us new guys would just love to hear. Hope this starts a trend with some of the senior members. (like maybe how this site started, Mr. Administrator?) Good job Al!
