i was given a 750 with a blown motor, i was told it was a 95 but lookin at the vin i think its a 92, the vin is 89a 001369 is there anyway to tell if the crank has been welded when i have the top end off? it also looks like the ignition has been changed, im going to build it into a asphalt sled and tring to figure out what i got to start with.

A 95 would be a 800 not 750.
89A is a 92. You need to have a look at the crank gears to see if they have been welded. Was the sled stock or modified, the cranks may have been welded if it has pipes. Check to see if it has the stock CDI....it will also be 89A if it is stock. There is also the possibility that if the CDI has been changed the motor could be set up to fire at 180 and in that case the gears are probably welded.
