Yammie, I since put RPC pipes @ 9500 on it, .030 off the heads, hot trail porting, intake ported piston from hauck and mallory advanced individual coils and ignition. Took it to Simons CPR last week for dyno and more tuning and reads 230 hp.Times now are at 10.10 @ 131.2. Next step welded crank (hauck) and 180 timing with a PS 10" suspesion.

It's still an 800, Yes I was telling you about the Michigan race where the track never made it above 54 degrees so it knocked about a second off everybody who was there including Simons turbo RX-1 who was running 8.30's compared to 7.97 which is still awsome.Port timing problems and squish clearance among other things are holding me up but I'm not done with Jeff Simons @ CPR yet. I'm racing on the grass 11-5 to see exactly how much a difference it made but it's comparing apples to oranges. Off the line it can't be beat but on the asphalt she trailed off to quick.

Now thats good news! 230@9500 must have cut the pipes some? I thought RPC's spun 89-9000 even after the update. Too much room in the squish? Do you run stock base gasket or thick?

ToyDoc,I ran the stock base gasket, part of the problem, also the port timing.

Did you install the .039 and then dyno it at 230?
That is super, good to know you got it working!

Those are some awesome numbers!!!! Jeff knows his stuff. Glad to see someone else who uses RPC pipes with success. They got a bum deal years ago from dynotec IMHO. :super:

Exactly correct yammie, some times you fall in s--t and still manage to come out smelling like roses! That was just luck that he not only knows the V-4 but also built the pipes.
