Yeah man! I've talked to him a couple of times at the races. He became a member here when I told him about the site.

Where did he race? I've been working so much that I haven't even kept up on where to go watch a race locally because I don't have the time anyway.

His Vmax-4's are definately fast! Haven't heard much about their race program lately, but great to hear they won...can I assume this win was on a Vmax-4 or another Yami?

Yeah, we're a bunch of slackers.

Kinda hard to know when the races are when you go to the COSDRA site schedule and the most recent race listed is last March.

How's about keeping us posted to upcoming races, or is there a schedule of races somewhere? Doesn't look like they're even having the Bavarian Cup in Frankenmuth this year, which I've gone to for the last 7 or 8 years.

Yea just venting alot lately...Just seems like there is no support latley around here..Realy to bring a vmax4 to anykind of race event and win realy sticks it up everyone's butt..I know Marchbank had to bitch about Pat's vmax4 kicking his butt for the last 6-8 yrs at Hay-days and look what happend...I must admit I'am guilty of one thing and did not know it was running..At the Snow-Bash in Ohio NY there was someone with a vmax4 running IMP 800..Did not know about beacause I had to hang out on the spectator side with my family..Then seen him come up and said, crap...Missed that one..Felt bad.. He had no tape on his ski's for the timming lights and minimal landscaping help...He got ko'ed first round...Anyway we should always keep an eye out and post victorys here.....

Everybody vents. I think we can all understand that. I guess I get offended when somebody comes on here and insults me asking if anybody cares about Vmax-4's. I think that's what we're all about. No offense taken.

Kinda hard thinking about snowmobile racing when it's sunny and 70 degrees out, but I think COSDRA and some of the other sites need to get the schedule information out there for us.

Some stuff from the past:

I had some pictures and movies posted several years ago, but I can't find them now. I'll see if I can dig them up later tonight.

I really enjoyed the COSDRA ice drags in Port Huron, MI last Winter. There should be a bunch of pictures and movies of that on here somewhere, too.

Although not real often, i do try and do searches now and then to see when the next races are, and where...

i don`t know if it`s just me or what...but it seams like theirs little info on the net..

every year, i end up hearing about some race or another, right here in michigan, and it`s always after the fact..agravating as hell

I know Marchbank had to bitch about Pat's vmax4 kicking his butt for the last 6-8 yrs at Hay-days and look what happend...

That whole problem with the Marchbank issue is he bitched to tech @ 2009 Hayday's, about Pat using an RPC CDI box on his Imp 800 Vmax-4, so it was going to require Pat to use the old crappy "piggy-back" setup or a stock 8BU CDI box. But the real kick in the ass is the stock Ski-Doo CDI box is fully reprogramable for curves and ect, but that's ok, lol! So you see what the result was now for 2010 and how his Vmax-4 improver ran. The poor old Vmax-4 gets kicked in the n*ts again.

Back in '97, we pulled a fourth at Haydays with our Formula III and while we were in being teched, the tech guys said that some thing was wrong with either our FIII or Guy Breton's pipes. Wouldn't you know it, he had a set of Ski Doo "stock" pipes. The stinger diameter and lengths were WAAAAY different. They complained and said they were stock, so the tech guys had to go and measure a machine sitting on the floor at Tousley's to determine who was cheating. We should have gone up to him, shook his hand and told him thanks for handing us 3rd place. hehe. A lot of that kind of crap goes on with the factory teams.

Yea thats what I heard from Pat about that CDI crap..I could see back in 95 having to use a pony pac but not now...What the heck is the difference now..Everyone reprograms their CDI's even stock classe's..

The stuff I had posted on here was from 2005, so it probably got lost in the data crash we had awhile back. These are from the Frankenmuth Bavarian Cup in Frankenmuth MI 2005.

Edit: The video plays choppy on my laptop when I click on the link. You might want to download it to your computer and watch it from there. It's about 14Mb.

Great pic's......Love that PS 1000.....Wunder if he still has that sled and what the et's were..?

mark the shark
10-10-2010, 10:15 AM
Not sure if he still has that sled, but the COSDRA results page goes back to 2004 and he's there several times with ET's and speeds on different sleds. He's still listed as part of Team Hauck Racing on hauckpowersportsinc.com, but I don't see any additional information.

Edit: I just came across this page. It's got lots of interesting race stuff: http://www.pro-ice.com/races-snowmobile.php

This sucks big time!! I know the srx box can be re-done for racing, Why not the 8BU box? I think anything is possible,We just dont know how to do it yet.

That was my sled. We had problems staging. By the time we were ready the tree turned green, leaving us in the dust. It's was dissapointing because the sled was in contention with the winning times.

Welcome back, Steve! Keep kickin' their butts! Any info you have on the local race schedule would be appreciated.

TV cameras? Are the races ever televised? About the only snowmobile race I ever see on TV is when the NHRA is up in Brainerd MN and they show one asphalt race and comment on how crazy the snowmobiles are.
