does anyone know where i can get a decent price on sled insurance??? AAA want $798 a year and my car insur doesnt cover it. so who does eveyone else use?? Thanks Anthony

Foremost is the only one I have found in NJ. $100 + dollars for minimum liability..

I ALSO HAVE FOREMOST. Got mine through the Eldridge Agency in Old Forge , NY. Ask them about another company called American Modern Insurance. I had them but they would not write my new Apex GT. Foremost gives discounts on multiple units. Depends on your drivers record and they will check Funny you don't need a driver's license to operate a sled in NY, but if you have one and you have a ticket or accident you get screwed in the cost of the insurance. Allstate, paying $85 a year for both my '95 600 an '97 800, so that would be $42.50 per sled, I believe that is with just liabilty though, maybe theft, I forgot. WildMax, how's that

Last night -20. Been a tough one this early but thats ok - makes the ground cold to hold the snow. Suppose to break today - back to the upper 30s - 40s.

We jumped from weeks of 60 degree weather to sub zero overnight. I guess the Black Hills holds some weather record for extreme changes - something like a 70 degree change in 45 minutes. Makes me appreciate the carb compensators all the more.

Yeah we get hammered in the East. I was insured with Foremost back in the 70's for a lot of years. NEVER had a claim or an accident. One year they decided to stop writing insurance for anyone with New Jersey address. I tried to tell the idiots that we don't get enough here to ride and that my sleds are kept in New York. At the time I did not own a place and kept them at a friends place. Then I had insurance with a bunch of other companies. I only had liability , no collision or theft and it was cheap, like $75.00 per sled for $100.000.00 coverage. Last year I was insured with American Modern Insurance and had a 2001 SRX, 2003 Viper and the 96 VMAX 4 and my total bill was just over $300.00. When I tried to add the Apex with full coverage I almost fell over. Full coverage just for the Apex was almost $1000.00!!!!!!!!! They really did not was to even write it. Since I get Paranoid about it turning up missing I at least wanted theft coverage so I was able to get liability and comprehensive for $600.00. If I total it I'm on my own. No offense to our Canadian friends but I ride a lot in Quebec and sled disappear up there quite a bit.

Dang, gotta get me a Quebec connection. I suppose where there's a big snowmobile destination area the professional thieves are after the high dollar sleds. Kind of like the bike rally here in Sturgis - a few dissappear each year.

Thanks! a few guy have called in the past week or so. I really hate to part with it but I HAVE ZERO ROOM. I would rather sell it that keep it outside. Can't justify having 4 sleds anymore
