View Full Version : Vibration
Took the beast from the far east out today. Pulls hard with the 800
y-pipe, and pipes, but it has a vibration in the driveline above 70 mph
on up, new track last year, studs, have gone thru the suspension, brgs
on jack shaft ok, any thoughts? Thanks Brad

Can you tell where the sound is coming from? Check how tight your track is.. Check the tensioners... A "LOT" of things can cause a vibration.. A bad clutch.. What type of vibration?

Belts tend to vibrate before they explode.
The vibration is felt in the running boards, and is a higher frequency,
has a new drive belt, maybe the track needs to get broken in? As
I said before it starts at about 70 mph on up. Any more thoughts.
Has any one felt this on any other sled? Thanks Brad

i had a vibration on mine and found out it was the crank weld broke due to a bad bearing on the crank

There is a bit of vibration and noise that comes from extrovert drivers until everything gets broke in. Do you have these on your sled?

Brad, Can I ask what you changed in your carbs to run the 800 pipes? Sorry this doesnt relate to your thread, Im just trying to figure out why my 750 isnt running right after putting my 800 pipes on.
I am thinking I need to put some miles on the new track, play with the tension after some more break in miles.
Izz I went with the 800 143.8 main jets, air screw 2 turns out, left
the pilot and needle jets as they were. But it does have a bog
when I nail the throttle from a standing start. Also it has a surge at
one half to three quarters throttle, full throttle is ok. No back firing.
I applied the choke when it was surging at half throttle, and did not
make much difference, maybe needle jet adjustment? Any way I need
some more test and tune time.
Thanks Brad, I need more test n tune time as well I suppose!
