Any one know what the stock number is the V-Belt for the 94 VMax-4 750? I'm going to the big NOVI show in Wisco tomorrow and If I run accross one I want to buy it. But the one I have on there now ends in 00 and the spair belt ends in 10. Is eiter of these right? If my belt was too short that might be why I could only hit 95 mph last season.

My data manual says 89a-17641-00 for the 92- 750 not sure about the 94.

The only belt Yamaha makes anymore is the 8BU belt. It will fit all vmax4's and is the only belt to run. The compound is a bit softer so the clutches grip better, slip less, therefore generate less heat and you'll have fewer belt failures. Don't let the big price tag scare you, it's cheaper in the long run. I know this from personal experience.

8BU is the prefix for the number. I don't know what the complete number is. Like I said, it's the only one Yamaha makes anymore. Just go in and ask for a belt for an 800 vmax4. The belt will have the part number right on it and it will start with 8BU.

THE 89A BELT IS HARD COMPOUND AND CAUSED SOME ISSUES ON THE EARLY VMAX4,s. THE 8BU BELT IS SOFTER COMPOUND AND WORKED WAY BETTER. PROBLEM BEING THIS BELT IS NOT CHEAP. BUT IT WORKS !! THIS BELT IS STILL AVAILABLE FROM YAMAHA BUT 89A IS NOT. 3:16 (tony)
