Well i have most of my issues worked out, down to the last one. When I go to start it after not riding it a day, choke is on I have to pull it alot, I would guess 20 times for it to start, once it starts its good, idles fine, warms up, once riding it, then shut off it starts first pull evry time, but that initial start is killin me, seems like its not getting fuel right away.. any ideas???

My old Exciter II had this problem. It was always a bear to get it started if it had been sitting for awhile. I never really figured it out, but every year when the dealer went through the carbs they would be really dirty, my guess is that there was some debris in the gas tank. Just a thought.

I completly emtied the tank and washed it out with gas before i ran it this year, Has fresh 93 octane with race gas mix. I just cleaned the carbs because it had a hesitation , which seemed to fix the problem. I was thinking maybe the fuel pump??

What plugs ya runnin? just for kicks, have you put brand new plugs in "before" the first start of the day, then see how many pulls it takes?

I keep a bottle of gasoline mixed with Yamalube in my garage. If the sled has been sitting for awhile I take off the mesh filters from the tops of the airboxes, dump a little gas in, replace the filters, and he usually starts with a couple of pulls.
The stock fuel lines are clear and run across the top of the oil reservoir. Can you tell if there's any fuel in them? Maybe the fuel is running back down into the gas tank due to a small vacuum leak and it takes a lot of pulls to get it flowing back into the carbs?

is the choke cable adjusted properly, are you flipping it all the way to full choke, because there are 2 positions.

i have this same problem, all i do is set the choke on full then grab it and pull it out even farther than it does on its own. starts in 2 pulls.

I'll have to check the reeds, i did not examine them closely. It shows that there is gas in the lines, I'll check the choke adjustment again tonight.
Thanks guys

you have fuel left in the bowls when you start it up, so i doubt it is an issue of not getting fuel right away, plus a couple pulls should suck enough gas in to get it running

check the choke and if that doesnt work then check your reeds out
