PSI made two styles of 800 pipes, the quiet trailblasters and the louder modblasters. Does anyone know if they made 750 pipes with the trailblaster design...internal silencer, or just the modblaster 750?
The 750 pipe running at 8350 and as quiet as the 800 trailblaster would be a nice pipe. Even with less hp at the lower rpm, clutch efficiency would more than make up for the loss in hp from the higher reving 800 pipe.

HUGH, I HAVE ALL PSI CATALOG,S I,LL DIG INFO OUT FOR YA. I DO KNOW THERE WERE NOT TWO VERSIONS OF QUADS FOR 750 LIKE THE 800. I ALSO AM PRETTY SHURE THEY WERE CALLED '' LAKEBLASTERS '' FOR THE 750. NEED THE INFO TO BE SHURE !! 3:16 (tony)

I believe toydoc is right. My paperwork says I have Stage I Trail Quads, I remember there were twin pipes available at the time (too wimpy), and the full race Lakeblaster Quads (not necessary).
YAMMIEGOD - any pages from your PSI catalogs that you could post would be greatly appreciated. I would like to add that information to my snowmobile file. Thanx. I threw all of my old catalogs away years ago and man, do I wish I had kept them now!:cussing: :banghead: :bottom: :frown: :frech32:

they sure did make 2 different kinds bc i have owned both 750 trail quads and 750 lakeblasters and now have 800 trailblasters
Hugh, My installation instructions say yvx4-04-02 - 92-94 Vmax4 stage ll mod quad pipes (for stock or slightly modified engines. Fully modified machines should use the "02" lake quads)

WOW, THAN THERE WERE TWO VERSIONS FOR 750 JUST LIKE 800. NOW ARE THEIR TWO VERSIONS SHOW,IN IN CATALOGS 93-94 BEFORE THE 800. GUYS GOOD INFO ANYWAY!!! 3:16 (tony)

So the good trail pipes would be the 750 trailblasters...quite with more torque than the 800 pipes and less rpm 8350 vs 8800...much easier to clutch and less fuel fussy.

I WILL CHECK MY OTHER CATALOGS AND SOURCES FOR SURE BUT I DO BELIEVE THERE WERE 2 VERSIONS BACK IN 93 AND 94. ALSO I BELIEVE THERE WAS A CHANGE IN THE ORIGINAL PIPES BUILT FOR THE 92 BECAUSE OF THE DIFFERENT PORTING ON THE 93 AND 94 750'S. THE 93-94 750 STOCK MOTOR MADE 160.1 PEAK HP AT 8250 AND 103.5 FT PDS TORQUE AT 8000 WITH THE STAGE 1 STOCKBLASTERS. THE STAGE 2 MAXBLASTERS RAN AS GOOD AS THE STAGE 1 ON A STOCK ENGINE BUT WERE A LITTLE LOUDER DUE TO THE INTERNAL STINGER REMOVED.THEY HAD A SLIGHT HP GAIN ON A PORTED MOTOR AT SAME RPM DUE TO BETTER FLOW CAPABILITY. THE STAGE 1 PIPES MADE 170 HP AT 8550-8600 AND 108 FT PDS TORQUE AT 8300 ON THE 95 800. I WILL BE RE-DYNOING 750 AND 800 PIPES ON STOCK ENGINES DURING TESTING OF NEW PIPES,SO I WILL POST INFO LATER TO YOU GUYS. [BRIAN]

THE 93 PSI CATALOG LISTS TWIN SILENCED PIPES #YVX4-02 AND THE QUAD LAKE RACE PIPES #YVX4-04. THE 94 AND 95 CATALOGS HAVE THE TWINS {SAME PART #}. THE 94 LISTS TWO VERSIONS - QUAD TRAIL PIPES#YVX4-04 AND QUAD LAKE RACE PIPES#YVX4-04-02. THE 95 CATALOG CHANGES THE NAMES TO QUAD STOCKBLASTER PIPES AND QUAD MODBLASTER PIPES BUT WITH SAME PART#'S AS 94 LISTING.

BRIAN, THATS WHERE I SAW QUAD LAKE RACE PIPES IN 93 CATALOG. THOUGHT I REMEBERED THOSE. ANYWAYS PSI WAS CONSTANTLY DEVELOPING DEFFENT PIPES BY THE TIME THE 800 CAME OUT. !! 3:16 (tony)

Are the part numbers stamped on the pipes anywhere? If not, how do you know what you are getting if you buy some used pipes?

THERE ARE NO NUMBERS ON THE PIPES. TRAILBLASTER AND MODBLASTER PIPES LOOK IDENTICAL - THE DIFFERANCE LIES WITHIN THE PIPE. THE TRAILBLASTER HAS A BUILT IN SILENCER WHICH IS ACTUALLY AN INTERNAL EXTENSION OF THE STINGER END THAT EXTENDS UP INSIDE THE PIPE A FEW INCHES. THE ONLY WAY TO KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GETTING IS TO TAKE SOMEONES WORD WHAT THEY ARE OR KNOW HOW TO LOOK TO SEE IF THEY HAVE THE INTERNAL SILENCER.
