800 stock clutch vs. 800 roller clutch

I am upgrading my 750 to 800 chaincase and secondary. I have my choice between an 800 stock clutch or a roller clutch. What should I choose for a trail and lake sled? What are the benefits of a roller clutch?

The benefit of a roller clutch is very much improved backshift response. The stock buttons tend to be longer lasting than the rollers which may or may not be easy to obtain depending on the model, some have been out of production for a decade and a half. I ran a Hymark for a month in 95 which is how long the bearings lasted. If the one you are looking at does not require milling off the button mounting locations you can always go back to stock if there is a problem.

Yes that a copy of a Hauck roller, the problem with that type of roller is the helix still jumps off the rollers when loaded and unloaded, it will backshift much better, set your sled up with whatever helix you ran with, then subtract 4 degrees and you'll need a longer spring. You need mure side pressure.
