cdi questions

I was looking at CDI from 92 to 94 they don't have the same part number or price. Is there a big hp and torque out of 93-94 cdi then 92? do they still have the safety still on 93-94 ?
 

I'm sure someone will correct me if im wrong... but I believe the timiing (electronics) of the 93-94's was the same but they changed the pigtail to the design used on the 800s in later years. This would make the 800 cdi a direct plug-in upgrade for those years while the 92' had to be adapted to match.

Best way I know is to push the contact pins out of the 750 cdi side connector and re-solder them on the 800 cdi wires. If memory serves the color coding is the same but the pins and connector are different.
 
'94 would be the only swappable harness, 95 and up have the CDI located in a different spot. You could change the location of the CDI if you swapped in an 800 harness, best option I found was to make a patch cord. need a set of CDI plugs from 92 or 93 and a set of harness plugs from 94 and up.
