Tim Bender and Bender Racing started this back in about 2002 with the start of the 2003 Yamaha RX-1. It's an easy setup that doesn't require the owner to lose fuel tank capacity with a front mount, plus they can use an independent oiling system to lube the turbo. The intercooler is actually a charge pipe that allows the track to throw ice and snow directly on it for cooling. They are a clean setup and keeps from a cluster from under the hood, but still lacks in performance as compared to a "front mount" system. Great for trail, mountains, and moderate horsepower levels. I think Bender Racing had a Stage III kit with a Garrett GT2860RS Turbo that made around 325-350-ish horsepower. Still quite a few turbo companies using this rear-mount system on the 4-strokes: FFP, OSP, MCX, MPI, Ulmer, and ect.
