Its Fixed No Bog!

Well I got up yesterday morrning and threw a bucket of changes at it. I went with the 60 pilots, 3 turns on mixture screw, clip all the way down, nocked the rivet out of weight, and went with a 80 twist.

With all the changes I had no idea what to expect.

With that said I made 6 passes with no bog and all passes were 11.3. Rpm went to 9002 to 9007. best speed of the day was 112. mph

The only thing in my way was my -.012 light.

Now that all is working great I am still surprised that adding pipes I have gained only 2 mph and et is the same.

I am going to try a 70 twist at next test and tune the rpms over 9000 were making me nervios that it would fall on its face but it never did.

Thanks for all the help.

I'm glad you figured it out. There nothing worse than a bog. I am very surprised you didn't pick up some time. When I put quads on my 880, it helped quite a bit. What did your 60 foot times do?

Here are time #s.

Great info...Kinda of baffled..Should be running quicker and faster..Gotta be missing somethin..Thinking..

Very consistant tho..Thats a good thing..

Try: Hauck Orange Primary..(might need tall cover on primary)
52/42 helix at 90-100 twist at first

What is a tall cover. I have orderd an o-p-o spring. Do you have a used 52/42 helix. And yes it is very consistant. I have a little traction issue in the left lane but it was way worse last year.

Thanks Ray

Pretty consistant times. You might want to try clutching for around 8800 with a stock motor and aaen pipes. You could be falling off the back side of the power curve reving that high with a stock motor.

Your 60 foot times are killing you. You need to change something to get you into the 1.4's. Have you geared down for the extra RPM's from the pipes? You should be coming off the line at 5500 RPM's. Mine is in the 1.4's and I have no traction problems. If you get your 60 footers into the 1.4's, you will be in the 10's.
I remember you asking about belt deflection. Did you ever figure out what you needed to get that set right? That is VERY important. Especially in the first 60 feet.

I did not check belt deflection yet. the belt was new last year. Can I adjust any thing to make it right. I have a 24/37 gear in now. I also have a 22 top gear would that be better.

Is there any were on here to help me on the belt deflection adjustment.

Thanks Ray

I went and messured belt and looks like 1.5" deflection. About a 1/8 of belt is sticking out just the top of the cog part of belt. Do I adjust the with the three screws on the back of the secondary by putting washers under screws.

Would you want it to drag slightly on the front. That is how we adjust a jr dragster so it will creep in to lights.

Thanks
Ray

As far as the gearing goes, I don't remember what I'm geared at. I would start by going down in gearing. It sounds like your deflection is about right.
