Ken, is that NOS 8bu belt in good shape? has it been setting/hanging in a hot garage for years, or??..
just wondering if it`s a bit stuff, and posibley dry rotted or?

whats the full numbers on it?

thanks!

Al......it's been chewed on a little by mice.

I haven't had it very long so I don't know it's history. It's 8BU-17641-01-00, it looks good to me, it has the grey/red cardboard sleeve, not the older blue/white one, or the newer plastic bag.

That one made me laugh out loud!:rotflmao: :rotflmao::rotflmao:

Ken, you're a shrewd salesman, baiting Big Al like that with the mouse in the picture. If you want to sell the rest of your parts you should post pictures of everything with little mice chewing on them!

Al,

I went out in the garage this morning and a giant grey mouse was checking out the belt...........on a serious note, someone else already has first chance at it, I will let you know if they don't take it.

Shouldn't have to make any changes to the primary that I am aware of, it's a stock 94 secondary, Yamaha just improved the large and small bushings using teflon impregnated ones. What is the condition of your current seconday and what helix is in it? The 43/37 is for a 92 Secondary, the splines are different on the 93/94 secondaries, and it is already spoken for. Here are some photos of the secondary.

thanks for responding ken. my secondary is fine its all stock i think its a 38 degree helix. i was trying to run yammigods trail clutch set up hes got posted in the tec section for 92 93 94 stock pipe????? i cant find that 43/37 helix anywhere so im gonna give up on trying to make that work. i know nothing about clutching so just looking for a nice trail set up thats not gonna be to exspensive. thanks for the help

Peter,

The 42/37 is also a very good helix, it is the Yamaha factory multi angle. The 43/37 was a bit more aggressive version that was cut by Hauck. Have a good look at the helix on your sled because if there is an A die stamped on it, then it is a 42/37 helix. Do you have any photos of the inside of your secondary? The 92 secondaries were updated by Yamaha under warranty, some were missed, if yours wasn't done then you would want the 94 secondary.

there is no A or R stamped on my helix its a 38 degree helix and i have a 1993 not a 1992 vmax. i cant type that well so thats probably part of the issue.

just got it and replied ken, thanks..

sorry for the delay, been pretty busy the last few days...

42/37 Helix

Here are the photos of the 42/37 helix. You can see the slight nick, mid way on the ramp on the upper left side of the photo.

Unfortunately US Customs now want anything from Canada that is brought into the US to be a commercial export, which would be an added $10.75 fee plus the paper work. They can also charge duty on anything from Japan. So I probably won't be selling any more parts to the US.
