If your sled is an untouched "stock" 800 then it will have 146.3 mains in it. Most dealers set up or "changed" the jetting to best suit the area where the sled was originally sold. Do you know for sure what mains are in it now and what the needle position is?
Most probably IF you are runnung GOOD fuel at 0-3000 feet altitude with temps doen to -5 F,you could possibly (I take no responsibility if you melt down) you can get away with leaning the needle out 1 clip position, and dropping the mains to 141.3 and still be safe.Keep an eye on the plugs! If you run that crap ethanol fuel, leave it alone, and pack extra fuel with you.
This is only a guess,on jetting for you.The best way is to re-jet,and test. As for mpg, not too many people here care what they get, after all it is a MUSCLESLED.:a7:
